Inclusive Health Bureau (IHB) collaborates with over eight Local Chapters of Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) in Uganda to contribute to the broader national-level response to the still prevailing deficit of SRHR education in the regular pre-service medical training. Founded by medical students in 1993, in USA, Medical Students for Choice (a 501©3 non-profit) has, itself, filled a unique niche in the SRHR rights movement.
The IHB-MSFC collaboration, therefore, works to ensure that medical students and trainees are educated about all aspects of reproductive health care, including post-abortion care and contraceptive services.
Currently, in Uganda, the IHB-MSFC collaboration covers over eight (8) university-based student-led chapters across different universities in Uganda. With SRHR training still lacking in medical school curricula, the IHB-MSFC Youth SRHR promoters organize to change institutional policies and broaden opportunities for all their fellow students to receive SRHR education, including contraception education.
